Introduction

HOW DO YOU FEEL?

Hey! I have been in the voiceover business for about ten months and have only recently begun to find my way past the "good voice, but where's the opinion?" feedback from casting directors and talent agents (the folks who really would prefer that talents show up to an audition with a performance choice for the copy they hand to them).

How did this come about? A devoted (and patient) coach here in New York City, having concluded that I apparently have no significantly painful, tragic, disappointing, joyful or otherwise vivid life experience readily available for access prior to or during a read, simply asked that I make faces... hence, the "furrowed brow", being the first that worked in getting across frustration for a Jenny-O Turkey Spot, was the ticket. The people listening really believed that I was "tired of wrestling with my turkey!". Pardon the unfortunate imagery, but hey, I finally got the emotional callback I had been waiting for along with an appointment with an agent...

So, share what works for you when you get a moment and let's get this blog off the ground!

Wishing you all the joy and misery you can access,

Tim
